KIDS OF ALL AGES LOVE DODGE COUNTY

The mix of educational and recreational offerings make Dodge County the perfect destination for a family vacation. Children of all ages can explore the numerous indoor and outdoor attractions.

BIRDING

Children will enjoy learning about different birds, their migration habits and locating them in their natural habitats. Bring a camera and create a bird scrapbook.

ENJOY THE LAKES

Kids will love boat tours through certain parts of Horicon Marsh, Beaver Dam Lake and Fox Lake. Boaters are encouraged to waterski, fish and relax on the waterways in Dodge County.

SWIMMING

Pack swimsuits for the entire family year-round. During the warmer months outdoor lakes and beaches provide the best method to cool down and splash around. Indoor swimming options exist at hotels and the new TAG Center in Mayville.

BICYCLING

Families love bicycling and hiking Wild Goose State Trail, a 32-mile trail that is safe and offers easy riding for people of all ages.

SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM

Everyone, young and old, loves ice cream. Experience true car-hop service at Mullins Drive-In in Fox Lake. At Mullen’s Dairy Bar and Eatery in Watertown, dine in an old-fashioned ice cream parlor.

SETTLE IN AT A HOTEL OR CAMPSITE

There are overnight options to fit any family’s plan. A variety of hotels offer indoor pools, such as Iron Ridge Inn Motel. You can also make reservations at one of 135 campsites in Dodge County parks, complete with trails and playground equipment.

FUN AT THE FARM

No fall is complete without a day at Waldvogels Farm. Children will enjoy hay rides, a corn maze, picking pumpkins, visiting the Lost Pumpkin Mine, playing mini golf, or petting the barnyard animals.

TASTE DODGE COUNTY’S SPECIALTIES

Everyone will be amazed to watch how cheese is made at Widmer’s Cheese Cellars in Theresa or purchase cheese and meats at other retail locations, including Leroy Meats of Horicon and H and H Meats in Iron Ridge. Honey Acres in Ashippun offers demonstrations to see how honey is gathered, processed and used. Check KidsClub specials at Susie’s Home Cooking in Lomira.
